I answered your poll Deke. And I'm in favor of the Brown Out. Let the mangement know that we are sick and tired of the same old circus but with different clowns.
Stop being suckers people and let your voice be heard!

I'm for a protest or statement of some kind, I just think this one is lame and doesn't really send a strong message. It's 50/50 so far but I think anything less than 75/25 for is doomed to backfire.
I think it'll send a clear message. Here you have an empty stadium in front of a nationwide audience. We'll take flak from all our haters out there in various chatrooms like this. But they don't understand why we are doing it. They haven't had to put up with all incompetence the last ten years.
I think it shows guts on behalf of the fans. We are beyond sick and tired of all the losing, being mocked, and embarrassed week in and week out. Part of the reason we got the team back is because Browns fans from all over lobbied so hard to the NFL to return the team to our city. It shows we aren't going to put up with it anymore.
I for one don't care what others ay about us if there is a Brown Out. You see some fans put the paper bag over there head like the "Unknown Comic" and they get some attention during the game. But to have an empty stadium at kickoff on national t.v. Well that sends a REAL message to the management that we are fed up with lousy play, poor play calling, incompetence throughout the entire franchise.
As far as I know nobody has ever done anything like this before. It shows we care about our team that we aren't going to just settle for having a football team that barely wins. It shows we want a winner and we have had enough of their excuses.
I voted against it because it won't work. The only thing that will be accomplished is that there will be one huge jam of people trying to get to their seats. While you are "Browning Out" make sure that you don't buy consessions (i.e., beer or soft drinks, $4.25 water, Browns clothing, programs, nothing) for that will get Lerner's attention more than anything. Ravens 33 Browns 6
Against. After the last several days I believe Mr. Lerner is well aware of how the fans feel.

I am a dedicated fan of the Browns. I don't like to see them lose of course, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop showing my support. I have tickets to my first game ever this year. It's the Nov. 16th game. I am sitting in the Dawg Pound, and regardless of what happens, I am going. I just hope that others can see that same point of view and be there with me!!!
Makes no sense and gives our often called "Best Fans In The World" a setback.
We might as well all lay on the stadium concourse all the while kicking and screaming. For the encore, right after kicking and screaming, we can all hold our breath till we turn blue.
That'll really show-em!
Real tried and true blue fans that epitomize the term "Die Hard" wouldn't even think of this.

Well Mike, early results show about 60% against the Brown-out, if those numbers keep up, the Brown-out will not be a unified protest let alone a majority which any activist will tell you is a recipe for failure. If you don't represent the majority of the people you're trying represent, what are you really accomplishing? Frankly, I think it's going to backfire, the beauty of being a C-town fan is the love of the team will always win out when matched against the negative feelings we all share, I think most will go to their seats and will be that much louder.
No offense but the protesters are going to look like spoiled teenagers who criticize their parents jobs but don't seem to mind eating their food. What's the big deal if less than 1/2 of the fans miss the kickoff if they still pay and stay to enjoy the game? It isn't really embarrassing to the owner and I doubt anyone will notice if it wasn't mentioned beforehand.
My concern is for the safety of the people who will be stationed around the stadium trying to convince others not to sit down, one of them gets out of line and it could be a powder keg going off, frustrations are on the surface after all. The organizers of this protest better be ready to take responsibility for any problems that could arise.

I agree very much so! I am going to my seat, and you can bet that I am going to be as loud as I can be! I'm not out there for all the pen-pushers I'm out there for the TEAM! we need TEAMWORK!
What is not showing up for one game really going to prove? That we are willing to walk out on the them when the going gets rough? Great fan-power guys! They aren't going to care about low attendance for one game, especially if the majority of people aren't 'browing out'...all you're going to accomplish is missing the game and losing out on the money you spent for the tickets. Not to mention you're now going to be accountable for any 'mishaps' that may occur from the protest.
Just be a real Browns fan and stick up for your team for better and for worse. Then when we do finally dig ourselves outta this hole...you can say you stuck it out b/c you are a true Browns fan!
I am not sure what the point of it is, now. The organizers got Randy Lerner's attention and got a private audience with him, so it seems that mission is accomplished. Seems silly now.

Fans from other teams will be like "Just the last 10 years? You poor babies! Hope pouting helps!".
Seriously look at teams like Cincy, Detroit, Arizona...this may be our franchise's lowest point but others have had it far worse in the NFL.
Against.
This is just another case of the fans thinking they know best.

I guess I'm neither for or against. I think the most meaningful fan reactions happen spontaneously. Not because the guy down in the front row is waving his arms in attempt to show he can motivate the crowd. The fans have already shown their empty seats to the TV cameras at a number of games with this team.
I'm totally against it as well. I think it would just be more media humiliation and more embarrassment brought to this once proud franchise. We have had enough embarrassment for the last 10 years. Why add more now. The guys on our team need our support now more than ever, and turning your back on the team will not make RL any smarter in his decision making. He already knows how we feel, and is trying to do the right thing...finally. Don't embarrass us on National TV...there is nothing good that can come from it.

Brown out does not mean no support for your team. I plan on chanting "Here we go Brownies" the whole time to insure that I support my team but show I want better by not being in my seat.
Empty stadium on TV but you can hear all the fans...how cool would that be. It's just a statement of what it would be like without the fans we have. We deserve better!
This just shows the power of our fan base just like when the team left. No other fanbase in the NFL can organize in this way.

AAAAAND, How did that work out for you? What I saw was a full Dawg Pound. Just the way it should be.
It's not about how cool it would be, or to show how pissed you are. The owner and upper management knows how pissed we are. EVERYONE knows that we suck right now.
All a walk out really shows is that you are ready to walk when things aren't going well. Do you do that with your job? Or how about your marriage?
NO. You don't. You cowboy the F up, and suck it up.
We all, myself included, absolutely hate what are team has become. Walkouts and not buying merchandise is a childish way of handling your distaste for what is going on. Not too smart either. I surely do not want the guy who pays the bills and makes the decisions to think that he has no more supporters in Cleveland.
