Everybody has been talking about LeBron leaving the Cavs in 2010, but when you think about it, the Cavs are going to have a good amount of cap room going into the 2010 season and could realistically sign another star player to the team.

Question:
If you could get one player with an expiring contract to play with LeBron, who would it be?

Choices:
Carlos Boozer (2009)
Shawn Marion (2009)
Jason Kidd (2009)
Allen Iverson (2009)
Tracy McGrady (2009)
Marcus Camby (2009)
Manu Ginobili (2009)
Chris Bosh (2010)
Dwyane Wade (2010)
Dirk Nowitzki (2010)
Yao Ming (2010)
Amare Stoudemire (2010)
Other

I would go with Yao Ming. If you think about it with Lebron and Yao think of all the money the cavaliers could bring in with 2 international superstars. JMO

In a rematch with Jordan and the Bulls in Richfield. Of course we'll need some "Cavs" Blue and Orange unis.

Speaking of Cavs uniforms, why have they always been ugly? That black, blue, and orange look they had years ago was uglyyyy and the whine and gold now is atrocious. The logo and font is alright, but the colors are terrible.

I voted Amare, as long as he would continue to be healthy.

I personally liked the black/blue unis myself the best. Was sad when my old blue/black hat was ruined.

I voted Amare too. If he is healthy, he is one of the most complete players with his offensive and defensive abilities. Plus, he and LeBron are both young players, they could stay together and effective for a long time.

Also I feel that with the way Delonte West and Mo Williams have been playing at the guard positions, a strong scorer at power forward could give us a starting five capable of putting a lot of points on the board.

shaw marion is a beast who would compliment lebron well because he can defend all five positions and score when needed. plus with lebron and marion, we would have two of the top 5 players based on pure athleticism and physiology.

We need a inside presence. Bosh.

When this season ends, we draft Eric Berry and start over. Berry > Mays!

Amare first
He is the best of the bunch .. and he can run with the best of them, play D, and score, rebound, and do most of it all.

I would pick Bosh next. He does all the things Amare does, but just a little less athletic I think.

I voted for D Wade. He has already shown the ability to dominate and win through the playoffs. When playing with Lebron both of them will get some easy baskets because of the other's ability to dominate his man off the dribble.

Ginobli has the most votes? Wow! I voted Bosh...talented, young big man who can run. Perfect replacement for Z, and good buddies with LBJ, and we all know keeping LBJ happy is top priority.

I think you are a little mistaken in your reading of the poll results. The number of votes appears ABOVE the name of the player, not BELOW. Chris Bosh is actually the leading vote getter right now.

If there was one single player in the NBA I would want with LeBron right now it would be Dwight Howard hands down. We would be unstoppable!

Chris BOSH is whom I'd sign.

Yes, those blue black and orahge one's were terrible. That's when everyone was using black as a neutral color.

But the wine and gold is the joint. I like all of what they're wearing these days.

Every player on the list is set to be a free agent within the next two years. I definitely would have put Dwight Howard on the list, but his contract won't be up for a few years.

Cavs want Stoudemire

PHOENIX – Believing that Amare Stoudemire could make the difference with winning an NBA title and ultimately keeping LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers made a bid to the Phoenix Suns for the All-Star power forward, two league sources familiar with the offer said Friday.

Cleveland general manager Danny Ferry offered the expiring contract of Wally Szcerbiak, rookie J.J. Hickson and a first-round pick for Stoudemire earlier in the week, sources said. Anderson Varejao was mentioned in a possible scenario too, sources said.

Nevertheless, the proposal has generated little enthusiasm out of Suns GM Steve Kerr.

When asked about the Cavaliers’ interest in Stoudemire on Friday, Ferry texted to Yahoo! Sports, “No discussions at this time.”

Odds are, the Cavaliers and Suns would need to find a third team to get Stoudemire in the frontcourt with James.

As the Cavaliers try to find more size to compete with the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers for a title, league sources say they’re intrigued with Los Angeles Clippers center Marcus Camby. League executives say that the Clippers have been actively trying to unload payroll.

As the Miami Heat left the Stoudemire market with Friday’s trade with the Toronto Raptors, the Cavs are still hoping that the Suns’ inclination is to trade Stoudemire out of the Western Conference.

Chicago is still considered a strong contender in the Eastern Conference, but one source familiar with the team’s discussions says there hasn’t been a lot of back-and-forth with the Suns in the past 48 hours.

League executives still believe Memphis can be a major factor should owner Michael Heisley relent on taking back the money on Stoudemire’s contract. Sacramento has made a series of overtures on Stoudemire – with discussions at the ownership level. Also, the Kings have the intriguing asset of a pick that could turn into the No. 1 selection in the June draft. The Suns are talking with multiple teams, but still haven’t been blown away with any offer for Stoudemire.

The Cavaliers haven’t heard back from the Suns since midweek, sources say. For the Suns, Cleveland’s offer is flawed. Varejao is an excellent defender and rebounder, but struggles to score. His value is much greater on a good team than a rebuilding program. Hickson was the Cavaliers’ first-round pick out of North Carolina State, a talented but raw 20-year-old rookie power forward. He’s still far from an impact player Also, the Cavs’ draft pick will be late in the first round.

What still worries rivals NBA executives about Cleveland’s ability to work a deal for Stoudemire is the close relationship between Ferry and Kerr. They’re extremely tight and alumni of the San Antonio Spurs have a history of doing deals amongst themselves. For now, the Cavaliers seem content to let Phoenix solicit offers between now and Thursday’s trade deadline, and see if somehow they could revisit the Stoudemire derby. Most teams are wondering just how desperate the Suns are to lower payroll and how dramatically that will affect the caliber of talent and salary they’ll bring back for Stoudemire.

I would go with Shaq because where he goes, chances are, there will be a Championship coming... and with the way he is playing without Amare he will be amazing.

But he is getting old, and a more adequate player would be Dwight Howard.

I agree if you ate out og the stoudemire race dwight howard could bring them the force they need to dominate. I love Z and still believe in his ability to play the game at a high level but,Z's getting long in the tooth he's been a great player, and a blessing to our beloved cacaliers.!!! Smiler

I heard a story once that the reason the Price / Daugherty era Cavs wore Blue and Orange was that Gordan Gund's wife thought that the Knicks had pretty uniforms, so the Cavs wore something similar. The ugliest uniforms the Caves have ever worn were the old gold and maroon of the Stepian years. No one remembers those because no one ever went to the games.

Gotta go with Bosh.Z is getting old,and if we can get Andy resigned,we would have a really strong front court with Andy,Z coming off the bench, and Chris Bosh posting up and giving good defense.
