After looking at the teams we play this year, and all the changes that have been made, was wondering what most fans think? I know we havent even gotten to training camp yet but wanted to see if the fans think we are headed in the right direction..... My vote is 9-7

Question:
How many wins and loss'es will there be in 2009

Choices:
16-0
15-1
14-2
13-3
12-4
11-5
10-6
9-7
8-8
7-9
6-10
5-11
4-12
3-13
2-14
1-15
0-16

I think with the easier schedule we can pull out 7 or 8 wins. We should have won at least that many last year but the fact that we kept falling apart in the second half of games led to the 4 win season. I think we will hold on to more leads this year. I voted for 7-9.

I voted 5-11 but that's mainly because I do not know who Mangini is going to choose as a starting QB. I'll reserve the right to change my mind at that time. We are looking week on all fronts IMO. Until I get more of a feel for this team, I'll remain pissimistic. Razzer

i said 10-6 but we probably will be 11-5 and miss out like the pats last year. i just count how many teams we play this year made the playoffs last year and figure our lucky wins will wash with our games we gave away. we would have been 8-8 last year if we did not lose the team last year with the switch and injuries in the second half of the season. jmho

I voted for 8-8, but the more I think about it that will be very tough. Even with the easy schedule.

I don't see how we're going to run the ball effectively and we're one injury away from a WR disaster.

I picked 9 - 7 with the thinking the team is no worse than last year and better in some areas. We were 4-12 last year with a bit tougher schedule and 6 of our losses were 4pts or less. If luck is on our side and we do not take wins for granted, then 9 - 7 is possible. We will need to be at least 10 - 6 to make the post season. I think we will win a close one at Chicago. If we do not let up and get cocky because of that, we could steal one from the Ravens the next week. That is a Mon night game, Week 10. This will be the lynch pin game. If we hold, we make the playoffs. If not, then we improved, but just missed.

I think it will really depend on if we can find a QB out of the ones on our roster that can lead the team to victory.

I think it depends on a whole lot more than which QB is under center. If Superman had been the QB last year, he wouldn't have been able to do much with receivers dropping the ball, a porous offensive and defensive line, predictable play calling, a subpar running game, a boatload of key injuries, and a coach who wouldn't know how to instill discipline if he took a college class on it for 4 years.

If the Browns get all those *other* problems worked out, it just might result in a QB being able to get something going...

This team has to show me that it can score an offensive touchdown. Please, remember that we failed to score an offensive touchdown the last six games of last season. I chose two victories.

I voted for the 9-7 catagory. I believe this is reasonable. Playoff....Did YOU SAY PLayoff's! No, I don't see this team this year make them. I will be most happy if they WIN MORE THEN THEY LOSE!!! That would make me happy but never satisfied until we get a CHAMPIONSHIP here in Cleveland. AnyWho, Go BROWNSIN 2009!!!

9-7 the schedule this year is a lot easier then last years , i feel like we improved are defense a lot ( more depth in the backfield , better linebackers ) as long as are offense puts up decent numbers we should have a winning record

Who were the three that voted for 16-0?
Are you selling?
It MUST be good stuff you're smoking!

I agree with the consensus... between 6-10 and 10-6. Talent wise, I think we're about a .500 team. Luck will swing a couple games. If I HAD to pick, I'm guessing that we're still a year away from putting it all together...
a competitive 7-9.

Hard to predict what the stats will be at the end of this year due to all the new personel.

I'm hoping for at least an 8 'n' 8 season.

And i'm REALLY hoping not to experience that terrible, terrible sinking feeling, not unlike we had with Charlie Frye a couple of seasons ago. We all know how it feels all to well.

I'll go 8 and 8 and HOPE I'm wrong. They have to get out of the gate this year. Have to break it all down in fours - each four game cycle.

I went with 7-9.I was thinking 8-8,but were the Browns and we lose alot Confused

But I do think were going to suprise some team and go under the radar as we did in 2007.I'm not quite sure about 10-6,but we should be solid. The spotlight isn't on us like last year.

I need a sig Frowner

Are we picking the wins vs losses or total TDs scored for the season ? Either way not its not looking like a high number. I'd take 6-10/7-9 if we are competitive and showing drastic improvement every week. BUT I'd love to see 11-5 with 2 wins over the steelers, ravens & bengals ! A DIVISION TITLE !!

After the Green Bay game, I am somewhat less optimistic than I was before. Our schedule is slightly less difficult than last season and our roster has better depth, but you have to remember that all the other teams have improved as well. Until our QB position is settled, I'm holding my breath. But what the heck, why not go all the way:

Steelers 11-5
Bengals 9-7
Ravens 9-7
Browns 5-11

...and don't rip me for the above, it's JMHO

Im not optimistic this season I hope im wrong but if we can not stop the run we are in big trouble: San diego, Kansas City, Oakland, Green bay, Minnesota, Jacksonville not to mention Pittsburgh who we cannot beat since 2003 and baltimore. Im saying 5-11 or maybe 6-10 but that is it.

We'll have a top 10 draft pick for sure. So no more than 5 wins.

Even less seats will sell for the 2010 season.

5--11...and fingers crossed at that...

Although there will be a thread at the end of our 5--11 season asking if our record really reflects improvement ???

I'm honestly very disappointed at even thinking 5--11...for awhile there I guess I was drinking too much KA...maybe if one of the QBs gets into the flow and strengthens over time we could do better but I can't expect much heads/tails over what we've seen.

I chose 7-9, more as a wish than an accurate guess. If both lines get better and we somehow get a running game we should be better than last year.

As far as a soft schedule, I believe most teams on our schedule have marked the Browns game as a win for them.

As much as I hope I'm wrong, I'm thinking 0-16. The only team I could realistically see the Browns having a chance to beat would be Detroit in a couple weeks. I can't see them beating anyone else on their schedule, the way things are right now.
