Just wanted to gauge how the majority of this board felt about Kosar, wanted to see if I was in the Majority or the Minority, anyways have fun with this one fellas leave some comments as to why you feel the way you do...

Question:
Bernie Kosar from a Brown's fans perspective love him or hate him?

Choices:
Love him
Hate him
Hated him as a player love him in retirement
Loved him as a player hate him in retirement
don't care either way

I personally didn't care for him as the Brown's QB I thought he was inconsistent and often injured, not to mention he was probably the slowest man in the NFL and that sidearm pass was just atrocious. On the other hand when he's calling a game or giving an interview or just his opinions I can't help but like the guy....

I dont see how any Browns fan could hat eBernie Kosar he was the Browns in the 80's.

He was not injury prone til the 90's and his accuracy is un matched in the game still today. He still holds the record for most passes without and interception.

I remeber i think it was LEeroy Hoard falling down in the end zone and i thought the streak was over but Hoard came down with it. Awsome streak right there.

Love him!
You don't see his smarts at the helm much anymore. I loved how he read defenses and dared opponents to blitz.

omg! never thought i would hear someone diss bernie as being inconsistant! and as for injuries as the offensive line became older and retiring so went bernie kosar later as a brown he took alot of beating and would of played longer if not for that fact! I never got the chance to see him play in person but saw alot of games on tv and i can tell you i never admired anyone more for the smarts he played with! As for his running ability "who cares" i will take an intelligent passer anyday over a runner!

No sorry BuckDawg definitely not a steelers fan, as a matter of fact I'm kind of offended you would even say so I've been a life long Browns fan, Born and Raised in Canton OH (Northeast Ohio Browns country). Born in the late 70's I grew up watching the Browns in the 80's Clay Mathews,Webster Slaughter, and Hanford Dixon were my favorite players. So for you to call me a Steelers fan for not thinking Bernie was the greatest thing Cleveland had ever seen is kinda weak dude and I don't appreciate it.

OK, my bad. Like the previous poster said. Bernie is an cleveland sports icon who I considered a childhood hero. So, I did take offense to the poll, granted I did have a couple drink or two in my system Big Grin

I apologize for calling you a steelers fan.

What's to hate? The guy took us to THREE AFC championship games. Coming out of college was HIGHLY thought of and WANTED to come here to Cleveland(at a time when NO ONE did).Once again, what's to hate?

Although Bernie wasn't a prototypical QB, there was none better at reading defenses and getting the ball to the open receiver. His downfall came when they didn't build the offensive line to protect him (sound familiar?). Since he wasn't a mobile QB, without an O-Line to protect him, he didn't have the time to read defenses and get rid of the ball. His "diminishing skills" were more the case of "diminished protection".

OK,(long frustrated sigh) it was never my understanding that my favorite team was the "Clowns", but being a lifelong Browns fan and suffering through the hard times and having to hear people refer to the Browns as the "Clowns" on a consistant basis throughout the years sucked! So in my sig I'm simply putting the rest of the NFL fans on notice that the whole "Clowns" thing is over..... Now DaBrownsRPhat do you understand the signature any better? because if not I really can't explain it any better!
