I would have never thought it, but.............

according to the poll............

more than twice as many fans became "Browns Fans" in the 1980's compared to both the 1970's and 1990's "COMBINED"?

What says alot about the Browns fans is that there are 4 fans who said the "1940s" and 16 fans who said the "1960's" and to this day are still active fans just by being on these boards!!!

I was born in 1964, the last time The Browns won the world championship.... I became a fan when my dad took me to see Brian Sipe play against Terry Bradshaw and that was it I was hooked.

I think it was 1966 and the BROWNS were playing the Giants. Dad was a Giants fan and Grandpa was an Eagles fan. Gramps wanted the Giants to lose but I was just watching the game with them. Every time things would get a little slow THEM BROWNS would run Leroy Kelly around the end and he would get a first down and more. Giants couldn't stop them! I was now a fan for life!

#44 was a classic "mudder" and was known as and refered to as such.

A terrific back with a terrific O-Line.

Born in 76' in Dayton, Ohio.
In the early 80's was when I started getting into football.

My family was mostly Bengals fans (Mom,Dad,Uncles,Cousins... all of em), and I remember them "hating" the Browns....so I watched them.

Kosar- I threw just like him, so he was my fav.
Slaughter
Brennan
Mack
Byner
Newsome

Yeah, these guys mentioned above got me interested into football and addicted to the Browns.

I died when Modell sold the team, and I didn't follow to Baltimore. I did however learn that Kosar tried, and tried to buy the team, but couldn't do it. But my admiration for this man grew tenfold.

Finally, the Browns came back to life, and so did "My" team. Thick/thin/blood/guts/sweat/tears

Yes, I am a Brown.

Yes, I live in Pennsylvania right now even though my wife is Titans, Mother and Father in law are Steelers. Cousins are Eagles.

Yes, I think I am the only Brownsbacker in South Central PA. (Chambersburg Area)
... and finally,
Yes to my 3 little sons loving the Orange/Brown with as much passion as I do.

So I want to say a little "Thank you" to Mr.Kosar-for his passion and love to the Browns, and for what it's done for me.

Born Feb. 1967 in Elyria, Ohio; about 30 miles southwest of Cleveland.

I was kind of a late bloomer with sports. Even though my grandparents were huge Browns fans, my mom and step dad weren't all that into sports and I got really heavily into playing music as a kid (drums, primarily). When the other kids were playing pickup football games, I was 14, 15 years old playing rock in nightclubs.

I was very aware and rooted for The Kardiac Kids era in the early 80s, but around the age of 18 (around the time Kosar, Slaughter, Brennan were heating up), I became a full-on sealed-deal fan and have been ever since. Don't know why it took me that long to decided I was into it. Just had other stuff to do, I guess.

I get paid to watch TV all day

Was born in 73 in Millersburg OH Amish Country! My Dad was a Browns Fan being from the Elyria era. I remember alittle bit of watching the Browns in the 70s with him, but the 80s is the erea that got me hooked. I now have 4 young ones myself and hopefully they will be on some Browns web site in 20 years from now replying to a poll like this one refering to me as the man that introduced them to the greatest team in the history of football!

Born mid 50's in Elyria. In 60's only had 3 tv stations - if you turned the rabbit ears right you could get another out of Toledo...every Sunday afternoon was Browns football - had to be a "Brownie" Fan.

Only if you stood there holding the foil, facing east, while lifting your left foot exactly 1 3/4 inches off the floor. Smiler

I have always liked the Browns because my Dad is a diehard Cleveland Sports fan since the 40's. I was the only one in my family to root for the Dolphins for several years because of Dan Marino. Never liked the Steelers eventhough I am from PA. My brother became a season ticket holder in 2005. He took me to my first Cleveland game on 12/3/06. Became hooked on the Brownies after that come from behind win against the Chiefs. Brownie fan forever now.

This is what it's all about! Your sons will carry these memories of you forever. Long after your gone many times and most certainly on gameday, your sons will think of you and "the memories" and smile to themselves!
