Wow, movie was impressive to say the least. Acting was so good I forgot it was a comic book movie. We're going to talk about the Joker for years to come. Good job Heath.

I saw the flick on Friday. I would say it met my expectations ... and will probably be the best movie I see this year.

Just a warning to those who plan to take their kids to this movie ... even though this movie is rated PG-13, this is a STRONG PG-13. There may not be the gore, swearing, or nudity that comes along with a rated R movie, but it was definitely very violent, intense, and dark. Not recommended for the kiddies.

Other than that, I don't want to say to much to ruin it for anyone who wasn't seen it. Regarding Heath Ledger as the Joker. He should at least be up for consideration as best actor, or supporting actor in this movie. I can't say he should win hands down, because I don't know what other performances he will be stacked up against. I will say this name me the last 5 best actors peformances and tell me how they are better acting jobs than what Ledger pulled off.

I am only familiar with a a few of Ledger's work, some of his gooofier movies, but I didn't see any of Heath Ledger in that movie .... THAT WAS THE JOKER!

I will be honest and say I doubted how good of a Joker Ledger would be, but I must say he silenced me. He played an amazing villain and carried the movie in my opinion. I agree that Bale's Batman "voice" is a bit....stupid. Thought the movie was very good overall and definitely left room for another one to be made. My bet is we see the Riddler in the next one. What actor would you want to see as the riddler?

I really liked Jim Carey as the Riddler. I thought he pulled it off exceptional well. Also did anyone else think 2 face looked like the Terminator?

I'd add more, but I'm pretty tired, so I may write up a review later.

But, in a nut shell, this film is a definite 10/10, no exaggerating.

I believe Heath Ledger deserves the oscar, I definitely loved him in this role. Maybe because I anticipated it so much and knew it was his last role or what have you, but I honestly do feel that that role was played extremely well. However, know that he "outshined" Bale ........BECAUSE OF HIS DEATH! Yes that sounds cruel or what have you, but the film was more dedicated to Heath after his death. They re-edited the entire movie giving the joker a more primary role.

Its factual. You can look it up if you want.

Now if both were in it equally or if the movie was designed originally I would say its fair game, but Ledger definitely had the edge on Bale and I believe it was an unfair competition (if that's how you look at it).
O man your in for it from Nikateen....I said the same thing and god insulted pretty bad.

I wasn't even trying to mean or insulting. It's just fact. This movie wouldn't have been hyped to this point if he didn't die. I thought it was gonna be an overrated movie though, but it wasn't. I truly enjoyed it. Best movie ever though? Nah, not by a long shot. But definitely the best Batman though.

P.S Someone ban this man for having an opinion! J/k

You blow things out of proportion (much like saying Ledger's death is the reason his name gets mention for an Oscar and the reason this movie was so hyped). NEW FLASH! This movie was hyped since the ending of Batman Begins, but since you know nothing about Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, or The Dark Knight mythology, you just take invisible stabs as to why this movie became so popular before its release.

This is the reason why I and many others do not value your opinion.

Grow up.

Nikateen did you even read my thoughts on the movie? I said Heath did AWESOME! Yes I do think it was Oscar worthy! I know you followed the comics and all that...but when I went to go see it, I was talking to other people about and they agree him passing has helped the movie. I truly think the movie wouldn't have done as well if he didn't. Sure it would still be a hit. But do really think in your mind that it didn't help one bit? Not at all? Come on man...you take things to seriously. And dude you grow up, you need to learn that world is full of people who have different thoughts and opinions then you. At least I can respect you opinion and not trash you thoughts like you do mine.

Depsite you now feeling as though Ledger deserves an Oscar, you still at one point, said that he was only nominated due to his tragic death. I'm glad you liked the movie, but the fact you still think his death helped this movie a lot just shows how asinine some of your thoughts are. Hey, did I ever say his death had no help in this at all? Nope. But, to say his death is the reason this film is so successful is just down right dumb. I remember long before he passed, people were going NUTS about Ledger not only being casted, but seeing the preperation he was putting himself through.

You could compare Ledger's death to Kurt Cobain's, really. Some people made stupid statements that Kurt's death propelled Nirvana into glorified stardom, but after people did research, their music was selling better even before his death.

Heath was entering the prime of his career. That's the MAIN reason his role was so hyped.

Hey, I'm a man not afraid to admit I was wrong. Yes, I'm sorry I did think at first he was the man reason the movie did well. IM SORRY! I know you had the inside scoop before. I didn't. But look at it from my point of view please. I'm not a comic guy. I'm a comedy movie guy. And to hear all this propaganda about the 6th! Batman movie I was thinking that it was another garbage sequel film from Hollywood. With them just trying to get anyone to see it.

Like I said I did like the movie and I do think Heath deserves the Oscar. I thought everyone did fantastic except Bale....I dunno, just seemed he was trying to hard when he was Batman. But when he was playing his alter ego Bruce Wayne I thought he did well.

And man can we call a truce? I hate arguing with people. Especially Browns fans cause there my people.

WHO will be the villian be in the next batman movie? they built up another possable joker aperance. but since ledger died. they will respect him and his preformance. and after the coment about the suit protecting him agianst cats. I would have to say catwoman as the villian. but I would like to see a new carrecter not used before like clayface, or croc.

LBJ, I understand exactly why Nikateen is upset with you. Your comments in the Hulk thread before seeing this flick were uninformed, ignorant, and WAY off base. In other words, like so many people do, you offered an opinion before knowing what you were even talking about. Reading your earlier comments at the time made me want to flame you too. I held off cuz Nik was doing a FINE job, lol. I think you need to realize that, like you said, you are a comedy guy not a comic guy. That right there biases your opinion from the start, and you should probably not offer comments on comic movies. Speak about what you know, man.

That being said, I give you props and some points back for being able to admit that you were wrong. Big Grin

I saw this movie last night after hearing all the hype needless to say I thought it was sub par. Christian Bale plays Bruce Wayne well but lacks in the Batman department. Heath Ledger played a very good "dark" joker but I enjoyed Jack's joker better.

What is the deal with Batman's voice? Give the guy a glass of water to get that raspy sound out of his voice. Highlight of the movie for me was the disappearing pen trick. 6.5/10 is my rating.

I have no respect for anyone's opinion that Nicholson was a better joker than Ledger. You might think that Nicholson was better if you're a little kid, but any adult should enjoy the Ledger version much more. I'm not trying to take anything away from Nicholson, but it was a different joker and different movie all together.

Just to say, the disappearing pencil trick was awesome. I do agree with that.

Yea, I was wrong and being stereotypical. But 99% of sequels are garbage. People are acting like I my logic was based on nothing
