Sources: Taliban split with al Qaeda, seek peace

I hope these talks go well. It's nice to see something positive for once.

Taliban = al Qaeda

LMAO the Taliban a terrorist group is trying to distance themselves from another terrorist group. As if they think that will actually change what has, or is about to happen.

That's what I was thinking Dawg Gone. Ask them to hand over Mullah Omar and maybe negotiations can begin.

Yar. I'm curious on what they are asking for? With all the horrible crap they did before their Al Qaeda alliance, do they really think they will be suddenly left alone?

I wonder what they are talking about...

Maybe it's a ploy to keep Obama from getting elected, or to get him elected.

True, Obama has said that he does want to invade Pakistan and McCain doesn't think we should invade an ally. What's funnier is that if that's the case, the terrorists are just as ignorant and actually believe the man would do it.

do you really believe what mccain or obama say about anything? the pakistan front of this war is opening more everyday. we are finally going in to try to bring this to a close, only 5 years too late. the political nature of the war on all fronts is very sickening to me. this isnt even about who likes us or not, its about the government pulling another fast one on the public. trillions flowed out and who got it? not me or 99% of you. jmho

You don't think that leaders of foreign nations, the citizens of those countries and even our enemies don't have a US candidate that they hope wins? If you believe that, I think you're hopelessly naïve.

Wow, that’s a gross mischaracterization of Sen. Obama’s position. He stated if Osama Bin Laden was the target and the Pakistani government would not or could not act, the U.S. would. There was nothing about an invasion and nothing different from documented missions that have already occurred on Pakistani soil. Didn’t Sen. McCain imply he would do the exact same thing…without actually saying it? But I guess the international community wouldn’t be able to read between the lines.

So let me get this right...
In response to the World Trade Center attacks we can launch a full-scale war that costs hundreds of billions of dollars against a mostly-secular, Sunni controlled, dictatorship that had nothing to do will 9/11, offset Iranian influence in the region, and then turn control of that country over to a Shi’a-led government that can ally themselves with the Shi’a that control Iran?

But we cannot say that we reserve the right to launch a mission into Pakistan to target the known figurehead of Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, if the Pakistani government would not or could not?

You're right, it sounds pretty funny.

This is great! It was all Bush's doing and the billions of dollars we spent oversees while our economy is going down the tubes. Mission Accomplished.
