I'm in favor. I wonder if Gilbert will give LeBron some ownership in the casino should it pass.

ok so its 1:06 in the morning im sitting with my friends at a bar in mansfield ohio listening to some like music (mike perkins) and refreshing the computer every few seconds to see if this is going to pass, its 99% complete on fox 8 web site. got this is taking forever. am i the only one excited about this?
Not excited. I think the tax rates could of been much better. I think PA was getting 44%, Ohio is gettin 33%? Thats like 25% difference, I know its the '4th highest'....but I kind of view it like NFL draft picks...You try to 'add on' to the deals other people got. I think we should of atleast got roughly the highest percentage, unless I missed something more that they are asking from people, that would lower that, as a compromise?
I also have worries over the taxing cash thing, both sides have made arguments, but the only side that used actual wording or backed up their claim was the ones saying cash wasn't going to be taxed. They showed wording on it, while the people saying it would was a 'trust me'. So I hope that it is in the end, if not we will probably see a new issue soon to make it so.
I like to go here and there, but the first places I went were Las Vegas, so it kind of spoiled me, everything else looks kind of trashy in comparison that I have been to.

Tony, if you ever have a chance go to Foxwood's Casino in Connecticut it is gorgeous or it used to be when I lived in Groton. I also worked there for a while as a cashier scheduler, what a great job. They had a employee cafeteria that was to die for and it was all provided to the employees for free. I weigh about 240 lbs now, but if I still worked there I would probably be stuck in the cafeteria weighing in at 2 million lbs it was that good.
Also if you get to Nevada again try Laughlin it is a great place that me and my ex-wife visited like 30 years ago and it was great. I'm sure it is much bigger now, but it is right on the Colorado River and it was a gorgeous place.

I guess maybe the NBA would frown on a player having ownership in a casino with all the gambling problems >

I live in Washington now but I'm planning to move back to Cleveland soon. I'm VERY excited about this! We have several casinos here because of the Indian reservations. They are very beautiful. I love to play Texas Hold Em, so I'll see you at the tables!

I am in no way a political kinda guy. I somehow accidentally stumbled into this forum anyways it seems .
However, I am all for allowing the gambling in Ohio. "Why not" I guess is my main reason? It's not as if there aren't enough other things in this world for people to over react about. Anyways, the only issue I have with this is that they are only allowing it in 4 cities in the state and from what I hear only 4 companies will be allowed to run them. I don't know exactly how true that info is (remember, not politically involved here) but that's just my .02

Are the Casino's in Ohio going to have sports betting. I always went to the Detroit Casinos and I don't think they had it there. Not real big on card games and slots but I would not mind betting on some games

nope. unfortunately the only casinos with the sports books are the ones in vegas. however, you can make a trip to windsor and put some cash down on some games
