It's an ideological statement, and as we know with this administration, governments get in trouble when they run on ideology. (Or name other)I believe our present system of taxation obviously needs to be altered. No, I didn't say raise taxes. I think that there are functions that our government is required to do that need a budget. I think there are worthwhile programs that need funding. I think there is a ton of waste that originates from both parties. I think there is a group of very powerful individuals and corporations that avoid paying their share. If there is a process that is fair and a payback that is logical, yes. A lot of the research has shown that states and other political regions have not received much benefit from the tax breaks they have given corporations. I have yet to be convinced of the danger to me or my family if this happens. Again this seems to be a solvable situation, but it's the "no government in our business" kinda people who display the least amount of tolerance for others. Answer; why should I care. Again, a situation that seems solvable if blind intolerance is removed from the equation. I don't want tax dollars being given away. There has been evidence shown that a certain large portion of "small businesses" receive a benefit from these workers. Yes there is plenty evidence of abuse as well. IDEA! Why don't we have our representatives focus on fiscal issues and set aside social issues for later. Should we pay reparations for slavery? Wow! Making this happen is an impossibility. Acknowledging that the United States engaged in the worst form of slavery in human history is not impossible. Acknowledging that this country was built on the backs of some citizens (not just African Americans)who received nothing for their labor is not impossible. Getting upset and self-righteous when those citizens bring the subject up? Whiney immaturity. Are you pro-life or pro-choice? Both, and please don't pi$$ me off telling me I'm not. Should we have the death penalty for serious crimes? We do. There is a growing technology that has helped to lower the cases of innocent people being imprisoned. This is an issue where you have to trust your government and the citizens who sit as jurors. I don't really have faith "beyond all doubt" that we're there yet. If you determine for yourself, then you probably can't go wrong. If the gov't tells you what you need, that's problematic. So, Probably disagree. The guy in Ohio right now that's trying to get his death sentence overturned because he's too fat...He's been in prison for around 20 years, why has he been there that long? The lady that I used to work with that's homeschooling her daughter is a moron and a high school dropout. She should NOT be able to home school her daughter. Come ON! A HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT?
