The smack will never stop and I understand this......that is what a bitter rivalry is supposed to be. But, I was at this game in 1995 in Pittsburgh. When you all say we are classless fans etc etc. This whole stadium was behind you on this day. I have seen several posts on here about the Rooney's possibly selling the team. Would we get the same response from your fans if they decided to pick up and leave Pittsburgh?

But for all the rivalry's nastiness, there is a begrudging respect between fans of the two teams-- a recognition of the richness of their history, their no-nonsense approach to the game, and the passion of both cities' fans for football. Perhaps this was seen most clearly in 1995, when Cleveland owner Art Modell announced that he was moving the Browns to Baltimore. At a Monday Night Football game against the Browns in Pittsburgh, Steelers fans donned orange armbands to show their support for Browns fans in their attempt to keep their beloved team in Cleveland. Art Modell remains a reviled figure in Pittsburgh-- almost as much as he is in Cleveland-- because the move nearly ended one of the NFL's greatest rivalries.

You posted in the Smack Shack, what type of a response were you looking for? If you wanted mushy responses you should have posted in the Tailgate section, where this actually belongs.

While I agree that there is no rivarly in football quite like Browns, Steelers and I would fully support Puketown's NON departure.

You did post this in the smack shack....

I seem to remember plenty of Squeeler fans rubbing the Browns moving in my face...

But, and this has been addressed before on the shack, I, and most true Browns' fans, would not support a Sqeaker move.

Now go back to that ravine you call a town and contemplate what its going to be like without the the slavish love the NFL heaps upon all things Rooney.

There you answered your own question!

You haven't shown much class in your posting, it seems you intentionally provoke the SMACK response by posting in the SMACK SHACK and then cry foul when you get a SMACK response. Just to have a reason to post a CLASSLESS response in return!

On one hand, I would never wish a team to move out of a city, it sucks. But on the other hand I was 10, didn't really care a whole lot at the time and hope you have to go through what we did. Bring on the L.A Immigrants!

This isn't proper material for the smack shack, but I will go easier on you than my fellow Browns fans. I was at the last home game that year. There were alot of Steeler fans in attendance (as there always seems to be at Browns home games) that day, and when the last whistle blew and the game ended, there was barely a dry eye in the entire stadium. I saw alot of Steeler fans comforting Browns fans and I remember the support of the Steel City in bringing back the Browns to Cleveland. I may hate the Stoolers on game day and pick on their fans, but I won't forget the support of Pittsburgh in bringing the NFL back to Cleveland. And if the NFL decided to move the Stoolers (which AINT gonna happen), you'd have my support 100%. Going without football for 4 years was pure misery. Luckily, we had the Tribe winning games for most of those years, so it wasn't as bad as it could be.

And the Stoolers still ended up 10-6 regular season like the Browns...

To bad the Stoolers lost 4 of their last 5 games on a downward plunge, and now after letting top oline go are having trouble with dline being to fat and lazy to practice...Thanks Stoolies!!!

Oh! And the season before that! Yes and the Ref bowl.

Wink

Didn't the Jags beat the Stoolers twice at Home even after the Refs gave Hines a TD while he cheated by grabbing a facemask...what teams with a winning record did you beat besides the Browns again last season?

I loathe them. I hate them. I got into an argument with the manager at thing's rememberd in summit mall last week for carrying they're ugly el-garbo merch...

I would willingly spend a weekend in jail in exchange for the thrill of urinating on a car that featured a stooler's fan on board window cling...

...I want a windshield sticker that reads "Toothlessburger was here"

I hate your football team, and the fan's that support them...

But I would never in a million years want you to lose your team. As well, I would petition to keep you here. I would wear a black and gold arm band for ya'll (although I would later use it as conditioned toilet paper)

You are a proud group, and as much as I despise you all - I respect you.

Not to mention, we're gonna need a punching bag for the next few seasons...I'd hate for our tastiest prey to up and move to dodge....

Go Browns.
