Kasper wasn't going to make the team and I'm sure everyone expected JJ to be placed on the PUP list. I know I did.

can someone tell me why we put Kasper on IR? Why wouldnt we just cut him? Now we have to pay him for 2 pracitices and one or two plays?

Doesnt make sense to me????

Because I think the organization is really high on him. That was the talk coming out of OTAs and early in camp. Injuries didn't allow us to see what they apparently saw...

my guess is they couldn't come to terms on a cheaper injury settlement for release.

that stinks....all we need is more people on IR collecting a paycheck that never play in a single game.

It might be unfair, but he has been hurt since day one of camp....

That's the way the NFL is organized...to keep the promising player within the grasp of said team!

GO BROWNS!

We didn't keep Kasper because of a bothersome release contract. We kept him because of his great potential and high hopes on him during TC. He would've been giving Wilson a run for his money fighting for a spot on the team. Instead he gets injured and placed on IR.

Honestly, I think this is good news, not bad. He's not eating up a roster spot and we get to keep his talent around.

Can't wait for o-eight!
Get 'em Browns! Get 'em!

If he looked like the second coming of "Wes Welker" as they kept saying on STO Training Camp Daily, then fine...

If he was going to be giving Wilson a run for his money for a spot on the team? No thanks...Wilson is no Wes Welker.

Sorry, just my opinion.

JJ isn't going to play this year guys, I'm telling you that right now. 4 knee surgeries since the end of last season...I know we don't have to think back that to remember the last local guy we signed that had a similar situation and how that played out.

How does the IR work? Could Kasper be eligible at all to play this season? If so, I'd think they kept him because we have zero depth at WR.

Kasper can't play this season at all. If someone is placed on IR in the preseason they are automatically ineligible to play that season. If a player is placed on IR during the regular season I think they can come back after 4 games. Its basically a away to keep an injured player on your team without wasting a roster spot. Now I bet Steptoe becomes #3, or even Cribbs?
