I hold the QB more accountable for a bad play call than the O.C. The QB has the opportunity to recognize a bad play at the line of scrimmage. We finally have a coaching staff that allows the QB to audible. THANK YOU!!!

I missed the game today due to work, granted, I watched when I could online some, but can somebody tell me why Braylon didnt have any catches? Was he doubled? Did he drop them? What was the deal???
He dropped 1. Hit him right in the chest. He was doubled most of the game. the other couple throws towards him weren't on target (good coverage) however, it opened things up for Massaquoi. 8 catches 148 yards. The kid can catch and can get open. he's an ideal #2. ------------------- Browns without Braylon Edwards, 1-0. Jets with Braylon Edwards, 0-1. coincidence? |

Talk about stinky cities, I was in Pittsburgh the latter part of this past week and it stunk for real...like sewer and dead fish. Rather repulsive. |

A single play? I'll agree with you on that one. An entire change of scheme as we saw after we took the lead today? Thats all Offensive Coordinator and head Coach. They went conservative....played NOT TO LOSE....and it came back to haunt them. Lets just hope the coaching staff learns from this loss today... --------------------------------------------- My backpack has jets........... |

We have one "1" and it felt worse than the loss to the Bungles. This was the worst game I have seen in years... I think if they dont show real progress at the Stollers "we tar and feather DUBAL" |
Did anyone else think that the lack of a passing game had to do with 1st down run, 2nd down run, 3rd down throw. It was way to predictable.
Lerner please find a way to fix this?!?!? I want Eric Berry!! |

Daboll is the most uncreative OC in the NFL.....

You're giving Daboll to much credit here. Daboll is quite possibly the worst offensive coordinator in the history of Cleveland Browns football, and we've had some really bad ones. -- The only way to go, Draft Taylor Mays in '10! |

Words cannot describe how much I want this guy outta here! Take the coach with you!!!! Hines had 159 yds today! Thats just fantastic! Way to shut him down after studying the tape and preparing for him so well! Wide open year after year with that smile. Most loyal Browns fans could plan better!!! Dumb ..really dumb.. |
Daboll, I got a bone to pick with you buddy.
Everybody knows you do not leave your QB in the game when you run the Wildcat. That is the whole point of the Wildcat is to give you an extra blocker. Is it really not that obvious? Is this not common sense? They really should not call this the "Wildcat" given the way that you run it. Instead, they should just call it Cribbs in the shotgun with Anderson at WR. |
Our offense is just pathetic. When you are handed 3 fumbles by the other team, and you either hand it right back to them, or can't convert them into points, you don't deserve to play in the NFL. The score should have been a lot worse than what it was. The Steelers should have easily had 2 more TD's.

Daboll not only looks dumb physically, but he's very dumb mentally as well. "Lewis up the middle" when it never works. Even when we're down by 2 scores? Abandoning the wildcat in the 2nd half? Wasting space giving the ball out of the wildcat to a slow running back like Lewis? Why not play Cribbs at RB with Anderson under center? Use him as a decoy? Throw him a quick screen? Why is Cribbs not on the field for every 3rd down?
No youre giving him to much credit, hes the worse OC in the history of football. |
Daboll's Wood Hayes approach to this offense does not work, 3 yards and a cloud of dusk just don't make it in the NFL. It's over 3 decades out dated. His play calling is way to predictable. He puts to much pressure on the QB to make a first down when he throws when it's always 3rd down.

Plain and simple.... Someone needs to show Daboll the door

Daboll SUCKS! What more does he need to do to prove it to anyone? How few points are too few to make the Daboll lovers see the light?

If your front seven can't pressure the QB and stop the run you are in trouble. If you don't have a good QB then your offense sucks unless you have a tremendous running game. Don't look now but we need a tackle breaking running back and at least one new offensive lineman. Mangini is playing with the hand dealt to him and it wasn't a good one. ____ Yoda: NO! Try Not, Do Or Do Not, There is no try!!! Your both idiots! The problem is the MANKOK regime. When have either proven, that any of their decisions they've made have been an improvement! They can't even develope a wide reciever. Let alone manage a HISTORIC franchise! You don't sell the team,RETARDS! Lerner isn't making these changes, he just signs off on them! He has these 2(MANKOK), harping in his ear about these changes and probably getting sick of hearing them. I can't see him sticking with these 2 IDIOTS much longer. BTW, it took them until 2 weeks ago, to get him to trade BE, and you know they wanted him gone since they 1st got here! Replace MANKOK! Salvage who we got left, before they send them off, most likely to the JETS! Get a really good judge of talent in here B4 the draft and lets get a QB and some DB's and prepare for next year, without the MANKOK mentally handicapped school of coaching! I know I could do a better job, so why can't someone that is wanting the job already in the NFL. Preferably, someone who's never been fired or about to BE! Someone who has done good in the NFL, PAY them the $! Not a glorified kick returner! |

The Browns are a embarrasment to the NFL.they have no owner, coach or players.I can't even watch them anymore. The only way to change things is for people to not show up at games.Maybe then,Learner would sell the team and buy another soccer team, thats what he is interested in.i do see why the Jets got rid of their bad players.they just gave them to Cleveland.

Brian Daboll is without question the worst play caller in the league right now. From game planning to the actual execution this offense is horrid. If he isnt fired after this week...no one in this organization has any BALLS.(not that I thought anyone had any anyways.)

Well Mangini acts like he has huge balls. Shows us all who is boss by trading Kellen and Edwards. Makes players work his camp. Fines players for not paying for water. Benches Quinn after 2 1/2 games (looks stupid now). He needs to take Daboll's clipboard and beat him over the head with it. Seriously, he should take the play calling over for the rest of the year. They won't fire Daboll becuase it would cost Lerner money to let him go early. This year is all about cost savings. Don't forget most tickets are sold anyway. I just hope this extra 11 mil lerner is saving by benching BQ goes into paying players next year and not Lerners already fat pockets. |

A serious question as I was unable to see the game...How many passes were thrown to our TE? Is the TE even considered as a potential pass receiver in our scheme or he only has blocking assignments? Seems to me that this position is virtually ignored...

First mistake was getting rid of K2 the second was BE now we are left with no real threat!! Even with DA in now they can play man coverage cause of that!! Mangini has picked apart our team and sent them away for draft picks!! All I know is they better get some real players that are gonna make a difference!! I have seen Mangini questioning Dabol on the sidelines!
Look at the bright spot there is always next year and the year after that and the year after that and so on and so on!! |
Your right, this front office has destroyed this team. Daboll needs to go now, and Mangini/Kokonis should see the door at the end of the season. Bring in Bill Cowher and give him the Browns. |
Daboll sucks and needs to go. Mangini doesn't seem to have any of the players behind him. He need to go. 4:30 pm Sunday would be a great time for both. Give the team to Rob. At least he looks cool on the sideline. From what I hear the players like him. If he makes some progress in the second half of the year, give him a shot at running the team. I like what he has done with the D, for the most part.

If you do the math that is about 35% of the season he has been on the bench. It may take until the lions game the next week because the offence sucks so bad that they don't get very many plays off in a game. We don't want to see quinn come in and put a couple long drives together and still get to his 70%. "I want to smack Eric Mangini so hard he poops himself. The Browns are the new Lions. It is amazing to me that people our on the band wagon to get rid of this guy! I said that at the beginning of the season. He has no credentials. Our play calling is so stale it has mold on it! Look at denver, they're getting it done with a great scheme and a sub par Q.B. Every team has limited talents but properly using the players and skill sets greatly improve your performance. Chud would have been an upgrade to this guy and I wonder how long Mangini will let this go on.
Respect all, fear none. |

Daboll even looks stupid, that's what makes this more funny.

Some of the opinions are funny...has anyone actually called plays? Even on PeeWee level.
Look 90% of the time it ain't the call. Daboll has made correct calls. What I see is a complete failure of the Execution. When we are 3rd n 3 and we got an OPEN WR 4 yards for the first an easy play to execute and it doesn't HAPPEN regardless of WHO's FAULT we are talking about Daboll not WR or QB predicament. HOW IS THIS DABOLL'S FAULT??? And its not sometimes...it at a terribly HIGH RATE. Now the only fault I can put on Daboll is as a coach he has to have these guys prepared better. But I keep hearing on how we had EXCELLENT Practices and our demise on offense is a complete wonderment cause we executed it so well on O. So again - how much of this is DABOLL's fault? It starts of course with the QB...both have played uninspiring football. But not limited to them. WRs have dropped balls. OL has missed blocks as I see a lack of UNIT on the Right side and the only unity I saw was when Hank was there. The running game has to create HORIZONTAL stretch to the D to be successful. Without a Vertical stretch due to the ineffectiveness of our passing game - the best running of LEWIS straight Line Power running becomes USELESS or at the least Ineffective. Lewis has lost his edge running Outside so we don't create the horizontal stretch. But you tell me its all on Daboll's play calling...lol Look you think we've gone through a lot of Regimes? Palmer, Butch, RAC/Savage and now M/K...We've gone through 8 count them 8 OC's and just a note Arians who the same fans were stating the exact same things I read here about Daboll was only good enough to go on and WIN A SB RING Trust me it ain't the play caller. Nine out of 10 of his calls are spot on. And teams should not fail because of the one bad one here n there. They shouldn't be devastating. JMHO - guess what right now our O sucks, but it ain't Daboll's fault. lol Kokinis Gone - maybe Holmgren coming. Mangini brings the Browns up! Remember its a 3 year program. |
I disagree here... Daboll's inexperence as a play caller shows up loud and clear each week. Plus the HC knows very little about Offense so he is no help. The players are not allowed to disagree or out they go.. This falls on Daball, they will only run the play he calls even if they feel it is wrong. JMO |

Mangini and Daboll are a nasty nightmare! I long for the day the PD headlines read... MANGINI FIRED!!!! |

Daboll is a D-bag!!!!!! Why run a wilcat offense and have DA as a WR. Like anyone needs to cover him. That alone proves Daboll has no dam clue what he's doing.

It may not be the OC fault but it certainly isn't the QB's.
The only constant has been the poor hiring of the FO personnel. These guys are a bunch of hacks, and the sooner Lerner figures this out the better off we'll all be. -------------- Dawg Gone (I Miss using the term ManKok) |
We need to hire a OC with successful NFL experience. Heck, I'd even like to snag Mike Martz. Sign WR Vincent Jackson in 2010 FA, draft RB Jahvid Best in round 2 and use him as a slot WR and RB, draft a stud TE. All of the suddent we have some explosive players and a dynamic OC.

If play calls are executed correctly they work. I do not care what kind of offense it is.
A coach can make a 10% difference in wins and losses at the end of the season! A QB can make a much bigger difference. It is not the coaches! I get dumber every time i come on here and read this junk Forget hope! Show me some HEART! |
if you re watch highlights of quinn from college and under crennel and also watch anderson highlights. You will see that regardless of who is better between the two, BOTH HAVE SUFFERED UNDER DABOLLS and manginis system. i say mangini also because i have read posts from jets fans saying how predictable and non creative their offense was under mangini. Anyways this system is really hurting both qb's, whether they are starting material or not....

This is probably the most ridiculously incorrect imaginary football statistic I have ever seen anyone pull out of their backside. |
