RAIDERS SHOPPING FARGAS, BUSH
Posted by Mike Florio on October 12, 2008, 12:59 p.m. EDT

Charley Casserly of CBS reports that the Oakland Raiders are willing to trade either Justin Fargas or Michael Bush.

With Darren McFadden proving to be a legitimate NFL player, the Raiders don’t need three tailbacks.

Casserly says that Bush is the more likely to be moved.

Bush and Fargas are both under contract through 2010. Fargas has higher base salaries, given that he has been in the league for more years. Bush is in his second season. He was considered to have first-round talent until he suffered a broken leg in the first game of his senior season at Louisville.

-----------------------------------------------
I, personally, would love to have Michael Bush. He's young, strong, and fast. He was one of my favorite college backs when he played at Louisville, he looked like a Jerome Bettis. He is very talented and it wouldn't hurt to try and get him.

ESPN says 3rd rounder for Bush. May as well, we traded everything else away.

No third rounder left for us, it was traded away to get Rucker in the 4th. No 5th either, that was used to get Hubbard (collecting dust on the practice squad). I'm not sure what we gave to the Dolphins for Travis Daniels this year (I think it was a seventh, maybe a sixth).

That leaves us with 1-2-4-6.

Still, Bush would look great in a Browns uniform.

1,2,4,6

I thought acquiring players during the year was for CONTENDERS, not PRETENDERS.

The Browns need a whole lot more than one player to be average at this point. There are many, many, many holes on this team that must be addressed.

I think we all know RAC will be gone this year, thank GOD, so why don't we let the new coach and OC pick whom they'd like to line up in the backfield.

Top needs for this team during off-season and draft:

1)Pass rushers, pass rushers, pass rushers

2)Legit CB, especially higher in the 1st round, we can land one...malcom Jenkins perhaps in the top 10???

3) see number 1 for all other needs....

bush was projected as a top ten pick out of college before he broke his leg in the second game of his senior year at louisville. also he was a heisman candidate that year.

Bush, Lewis and Harrison sharing carries. I would like to see that. It might add another couple years to Lewis' career.

I doubt we would want to use a 3rd or even a 4th on him though.

Maybe a conditional 3rd in 2010.

Just went back and looked at hifglights of Michael Bush....Just as I suspected.
A very avgerage NFL back! IMO, Bush would make sense for a team who runs 70%.
Unless he works on his body and conditioning, He's just taking up a uniform. Don't get me wrong, he is worthy of playing in the NFL. But with K2 & BE, Bush is NOT a compliment. He needs 30 pluse carries a game to reach 1000 yds... NOT a good fit!

LOL can we run 65% of the time....

Bush would be an upgrade over wright and Harrison, instantly

we can get rid of Wright, Harrison and dinkin if Bush can block.

Except we dont have chips to play Wink

I would take Fargas in a heartbeat...bush would not be a bad pickup either.

We're not a single RB away from competing. Work with what we have, and let's keep our draft intact.

Props to jasonsball80, we definitely shouldn't even start to consider trading for someone unless they can rush or defend the pass.

WTF....No way, no trade right now for a back up RB. The way things are going we're going to have an early pick to get a stud RB in the 09 draft. Wink

lol whateva happened to build from the inside out.....we will be picking 15+ which is where bust RBs come from and quality OLs are.....

we had our chance twice to get elite RbS, in LT and AD...blew them both.....

lets get another william green bust !!! not

give the 4th and 6th, pick OL in lower first and tweener in the second.

PS. but knowing savage, he will go back to form and pick bust RB in the #1 and a bust WR in the #2

That's not a fair statement. Savage has done just as well if not better than 90% of GMs. Every GM drafts a bust here and there. I'm not making excuses but don't pass the buck to Phil because the team is under performing. Bush might give some fire to the offense and help our run game which will open up the pass which will help control the game. I say do it.
