everybody says winslow is great, and that he has a great heart, and the most desire, and that he has the most talent on the team. i think he had great college stats and a great last name. he hasn't put up the numbers for greatness in the nfl yet and shouldn't be treated as such. and i'm sure it's been said but the owner of the company i work for doesn't call me when i'm sick. give me a break and let's see what kind of trade we can get for him since teams will see that he's always hurt. i'd take a field goal kicker at this point.

His numbers have been very good so I'm not sure what you're talking about. He is a Pro Bowler. He is also considered in the top 5 of all NFL TE (I'd put him in the top 3).

Comparing Phil Savage to an owner is just ignorant, Randy Lerner is the owner PS is the manager. Comparing a staph infection to you staying home with the sniffles is even more ignorant.

Its easy to just flap off at the gums and make claims but please backup your talk. How is he 'always' hurt? He has played with fire since coming back from his knee injuries.

saw bob golic interviewed by ch 19 last nite and he looked directly into the camera and basically told k2 "welcome to the NFL, you are a piece of meat."
as mentioned by another poster i too see a jeremy shockey situation playing out with k2 and the browns. hopefully we will go on to win the super bowl too once he is gone.
comon SOLJA! put up or shut up! i dont care if people think he plays with heart, passion, and desire. right now this team needs him to be a leader and ripping the team in frustration over a contract, losing, and not getting the ball are only a distraction.
he may have broken ozzie's record for receptions by TE, but he is a far far cry from being a true professional like the great oz was.
let heiden play more. he can block, catch, does'nt get penalized like k2 plus he keeps his pie hole shut and just plays football.

I recall a quote from Romeo saying something to the point of "Kellen's fine, it's not like his arms are falling off" . . . I would not say this about a staph infection, I would however say this about other things.

Also - knowing a person that works at the Berea facility, I am told that place is cleaned top to bottom and fresh clean towels are given to each player. I am sure the organization is protecting the millions of dollars of investments into players to make sure they don't get sick while at the facility.

I do not believe K2 is telling the truth and now that is making the Browns cover up his poor judgement of when to run his mouth, like after a tough loss. Grow up K2

The whole thing smells fishy to me.

It just does not seem like the whole story is being told. As a fan I guess I really don't need to hear the whole story anyway.

My gut reaction is that talking to the media was a ploy to get attention for the sake of his contract or to divert attention from his hospital stay. Until Kellen, Phil and Romeo appear together with a cohesive believable accounting of the events that took place, I'll look skeptically at pretty much anything I hear.

As for staph being a problem in Browns facilities, I know their procedures and methods were evaluated during the Bentley time and they were given a clean bill of health:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2641080

I don't know what Phil did or did not do as far as contacting Kellen in the hospital. It seems childish though to make it news worthy. If his heart is set on playing football and winning, then he, or any other player for that matter, should focus his energies towards that end. This kind of press does not help to build a better team.

Kellen does have talent and is a benefit to the team. He is a professional though and should conduct himself as such.

Peace,
LTD

Think about this whole thing for a minute....is KW2's injury a "football" injury? Nope. It's a personal injury, suffered because he was stupid. SHOULD the Browns be worried about his future health care for his "personal" injury? Nope. If he wouldn't have been pizzing around on a motorcycle, he wouldn't have gotten hurt; hence he would not have the knee problems that are now keeping him in the training room.....KW2, ya got no one to blame but yourself!!

Read the Pluto article from today's PD, it's all about the money and KW2s ego. NATAS, don't use Pro Bowls as an indicator for how good someone is, its a popularity contest. And many times, players, such as DA fall into a pro Bowl when much better players skip it for one reason or another. There are 12 TEs I would rather have in this league, mostly because they'll still be in the NFL in 5 years, as KW2 will not. He's a good player that is damaged goods, mostly his own fault, and will never get any better. If we can get something for him, let him go. This is stage 2 of a cancerous player. Next, he'll be hanging with B.O. and Ocho Stinko...

So give up. Plenty have before you. Either stop watching all together or switch teams. You have to be a serious masochist to be a Browns fan.
You have to endure season after season of really BAD football in the ultimate hope that someday, someway, we will triumph. In the mean time you develop defense mechanisms such as a stinging repartee, and the ability to smell BS from a mile away. You understand that buying a players jersey or becoming too attached to a coach or GM is asking for disappointment.
And the BEST time to be a Browns fan is Draft day. When hope springs eternal. I've been a Browns fan all my life, and while I LOATH what's going on with this team, and I will vehemently rail against mediocrity, I'll never stop being a Browns fan.

contract negotiations OR NOT.... that is the way it is... he is the GM of the Cleveland Browns, and should be making that call!

Take your time, research all you want, then show me some proof where Winslow got staff from the Browns facilities. If you would like I can save you the time and effort since there is none.

I agree GM can't be proven. Can't be proven he didn't either. So no effort needed either way. Cover up!....please continue FO.

Buff just because K2 is trying to renegotiate his contract does NOT mean he wants to stay in Cleveland. It means he wants MORE MONEY $$$$$ !! It's not like he is offering to take a pay cut to help The BROWNS clear up cap space. HE wants $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Somebody is lying. The franchise told the media, the nfl, and the fans, that the player's medical condition wasn't not being disclosed pursuant to the request from the player. The player is now saying it is the team who wanted to keep it hush, hush, and not him.

If Winslow is lying then we should can him. If the FO is lying then we should can Savage.
