It seems this season is already at a loss. Now time to look at the draft. Where do you think the Browns will pick in the first round? what area on the team will they choose to improve and address through the draft?

I'd say Linebacker. Let's get stronger up the middle.

malcom Jenkins would be nice, so would Laurinitis.

but really the 1st round pick HAS to be eiether a corner, linebacker or a defensive end that knows how to pass rush!!

This is a tough call and depends on what happens with the coaching staff.

If we stick with the 3-4 and Romeo I would say a pass rushing LB would be top priority. I say this because I would like to say a different coach could get more out of Wimbley, but he has limited out under RAC and this bad defensive philosophy.

If we go with a new coach and a 3-4, I would say CB or best available OL or maybe even RB.

If we go with a 4-3 and a new coach I would say DE.

Can you draft coaches in the first round? Let's see we'll get a late rounder for Anderson, that would have been an early rounder last year but our organization was the only one that didn't think he was overrated!!! Jamal looks slow and is tip-toeing so we need a running back. Bmac has looked awful the last 2 weeks, so a CB would work. Andre Davis still sux, so we could upgrade the middle of the defense. Wimbley has been ineffective all year and most of last, so we need a pass rushing LB. Our WR's can't stay healthy and the one's that are drop every second pass, so we could use WR's. Our probowl TE wants to get as far away from here as possible so we could use a TE.

Basically, we seem to have a good QB of the future and a great special team player in Cribbs but outside of that this team needs a lot.

Oh wait, our kicker looks sweet!!!

Let the Dawgs roam!!!!

Defenders who can make tackles and OL help. We can't gain a yard on the goal line, with a back like Lewis?

Cornerback all the way. Then reciever, then linebackers.

Too bad we would have to package him with a 1st and 2nd rounder for anyone to even consider it.

Alphonso Smith, Wake Forest's all-time career INT leader and the NCAA leader last season would be a great corner for us in Round 2.

Round 1 has to be a linebacker or offensive guard

I think we should go wr.....or qb...Geeezzzz..I think it is obvious we need defense starting with dbs..Malcolm Jenkins comes to mind...Mcdonalds game tonight was plain embarrassing..His bull fighter move on Grahams catch and run for a td was the worst defensive play I have ever seen...That topped his 2 dropped ints and the one arm swing and dive on the 92 yd completion...

This team simply stinks, Im done for for 2008, thank goodness my sons game ws going on at same time. No more wasting any more time and money on this crack pot organization that should have been buried along with the Oilers in 1996. This team died the day they moved to baltimore. What we have now is this half-dead reanimated zombie that aimlessly roams the countryside. Everything about this team since 99 has been a disaster, including only 2 wins against Pitt in about 22 tries! This team is SH#T from top to bottom!

Ray Maualuga, Middle linebacker, USC. Then trade away something to pick up Beanie. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Braylon if we can get a 1st for his replacement.

-------------
Maybe Cris Wells will do us a favor and stay at OSU one more year, Then nobody can say we should draft him.

Depending on free agency its hard to say..But you will def. have to find a defense and players to play defense..a star blitzing LB..A #1 CB..potentially a starting safety..And a stud WR..We all now how our LBs play..they sure dont play like a normal 3-4s LBs...always tenative..a beast is much needed..perhaps Terrell Suggs In FA..Wimbley will be giving another year to grow..Willie's retired..ADavis will be gine..DJackson is solid..and nothing more..so we have alot of holes there..Alex Hall will be used more next year..But Im saying LB is where we go first..Knew our CBs were going to have huge problems this year..Mcdonald got lucky as a rookie and got some ints..and kinda turned heads..but he belongs on slot recievers with lesser talents than those of starting WRs..Eric Wright is a #2..more of a flair player..But I still think Eric can be a solid #1 with a better supporting cast and not just with a pass rush (which will make any CB look loads better)..he'd be much better off playing alongside a good-very good CB; does not have to be a superstar..just someone that excels in coverage..prolly will get issued in FA..FA's WR class is weak..but I wouldnt mind Devery Henderson..hed be sharp as our #3 wr..and can def. go deep..very deep..As JJ says he's coming back next year..I dont see him having much of any big impact..he was always rather slow and these surgerys have taking a toll on him..but still hes better than what we have out there..Steptoe shouldnt be nothing ever of a #4 at best..Stallworth was a just a bad signing..I doubt we bring him back..though he has actually caught the ball..but then again he has maybe what 7 or 8 catches? But getting a Wr who can catch firstly is much needed..and rookie Wrs normally excel easier than every and any draft position (except rookie running backs) ..But as of right now.. round 1- starting LB..round 2-WR..round 3-CB

I believe strongly that in every draft, every year, you have to draft a defensive front seven player and/or an O-lineman in the 1st and 2nd rounds,no matter what. The only way to sustain a winning team in the salary cap era is to stay strong in the trenches. With 32 teams, depth in the trenches is CRITICAL.

Interesting Fact:
We only got 4 picks in the draft. Rest have been traded for players or draft picks in this years draft.
Picks We Got
1st Round
2nd Round
4th Round
6th Round
Picks We Don't
3rd Round - Traded to Cowboys to select Rucker.
5th Round - Traded to Philly to select Hubbard
7th Round - Traded to Miami for Travis Daniels.

We definitely need to look for D-line help as well as LB´ers; but as many have said, there are too many holes for us to fix in next years draft. Hopefully, we can trade DA and (god forbid) KW2 and get a first and second day pick.

with all that said, we definitely need some more depth on the O-line, especially at RT. I´d like to see us trade Shaffer as well and get a starting RT.

So, if I had to make the 1st round pick I´d look for LB first then DE/NT (whichever is the BPA at either of those positions). I know we have SR but we need someone to spell him as teams take advantage when he comes out to rest.

This fanbase really needs an enema... so does the Media!!!

After what we've seen the last two weeks, defense should be a priority. That's a no brainer. I'm assuming we'll have three picks on day one, because someone will get traded for that extra pick. But you need to focus on pass rush and pass coverage. Oh hell, we need a lot. Our rush defense isn't that good either.
