Josh Cribbs is the most complete special teams player I have ever seen with the Browns. Some were good kick and punt returners, some were good blockers and kick coverers. But Cribbs can do it all. I say its time to consider moving him to free safety. He is the best open field tackler on the team (infact, the only one on the team) and I think he would provide great secondary run support to our sorry line backers and corners. Allow him to continue to return kicks and punts. During the last two games he made every tackle on punt and kick returns. He is our best athelete and most physical player. Let's use him!
I'd put Josh at #2, but by the time he is done he will be #1. I like Benny at #1 because he was a beast. Remember when he had that huge club on his hand and was still killin people?
WOW!! Thanks for the Benny Thompson reminder. I haven't thought about that guy for a very long time. He's definitly #1 for coverage with Cribbs a VERY CLOSE second. But overall, Cribbs is undoubtedly the man. I wish all our current guys would play with his passion and intensity.

Not a bad idea. I would like to utilize him as a RB more but the idea of a safety is appealing, especially with the drop off of Jones' cover skills. He could easily be our Troy Polamalu. He could blitz to cover I could easily see that. I would put him at SS instead of FS though, Pool is doing a good job at FS.
I honestly believe Cribbs can eclipse Steve Tasker as the best special teams player in NFL history once his career is done. That's, of course, provided he keeps up this level of play!
Phil is the best kicker in Browns history (I consider Groza a more ocmplete player obviously but for accuracy, distance and kickoffs it has to be Phil)
Cribbs is GOING TO BE the best special teamer of all-time in the NFL if he keeps up his pace of returning and tackling.
He is only, what, 25? and has already the 2nd most KR TDs in league history

Phil gets my vote as one of the best kickers in Browns history, but I don't know if he can surpass Groza.
I'll never forget the two HUGE FGs Phil made in the snow against the Bills last year. The long one was the best one I ever saw and probably will ever see.
