Torn ACL for Brady?
By Micah Warren

Unless you live under a rock, you know by now (and have known for some time) that one Mr. Tom Brady went down with a knee injury Sunday afternoon against the Chiefs.

So far we had heard absolutely nothing about the severity, but Tom Curran of NBC Sports says that one NY Jets player told him that it’s a torn ACL.

“Everybody I talked to said it’s a torn ACL,” said the Jets player. “Players AND coaches. When we came in here that’s what people were saying, ‘Brady’s got a torn ACL.’ ”

Keep in mind that the Jets are in Miami and I’m not exactly sure how this information would get to their locker room so quickly after the game. Bill Belichick said after the game that he still has no information, and NBC’s “Football Night in America” crew agreed. I would guess that if the Jets player was correct, then Curran could have gotten the information to NBC’s television program. Just a hunch.

Patriots WR Randy Moss said after the game that he thought it was a dirty play.

“I don’t really want to get into it, but me personally, I think it was dirty,” Moss said. “Like I said, I didn’t really see anything. I was running down the field. When I came back in (and watched it), it looked dirty to me. I’ve never been a dirty player. I honestly don’t even know how to play dirty. I just play the game. Any time you see something like that, that looks foul, it looks dirty, it opens your eyes. So, me personally, it looked dirty.”

Cris Collinsworth of NBC’s “Football Night in America” said that he checked with the league office and said that there is no way that it was a dirty play.

Stay tuned. If Brady is down for a significant amount of time, it’s safe to say the Patriots are cooked. Matt Cassel is no 2001 Tom Brady.

you would really trade Quinn after todays "stunning" performance today by DA?? haha

I mean if you are happy with 114 yards passing and one TD then trade Quinn. hahaha

Here we go again with the DA BQ yeah Brady would have consumed the Cowboys with lightning from his fingertips and fire from hi arse.

Back to point other than the bad news that Pitt. plays N.E. this may open another wildcard spot in the AFC.

We still arent trading either of them. It wasnt that DA had a bad game, Braylon dropped 4 very catchable balls, one that would have been a long TD instead we had to punt. They wouldnt want either because next season, because Daunte Culpepper is still "out there" and though he is retired he can apply for reinstatment.

Actually, the long TD drop turned into Winslows TD. In regards to NE - Cassell was 13-18 with a TD and no TOs. They don't need another QB to start - they need a back-up.

Can we PLEASE stop rushing 3 and dropping 8 on defense?

Can't we have one thread that doesn't turn into a Anderson/Quinn debate??...Besides there's a bigger issues here people! I used my first round draft pick to get Tom Brady this year!!

Looked exactly like Carson Palmer's injury against the Stillers a couple of years ago.

Now we just need to trade them Quinn for a reasonable LB.

Did you know: The Cleveland Browns were once known for their defense?

Or a first round draft pick. Depending on how they fair this year we could move up packaging theirs and ours next draft. Beenie Wells anyone?
I'm no expert on the Pats but I don't recall any of their LB's I'd trade straight up for Quinn. Aren't most of them getting up there in age? I could be wrong of course.
There's also Detroit. They must be looking.
The Chiefs must be looking for a QB they changed QB's during their game. Not a good sign. Plenty of trading partners out there so why NOT make a deal. Get a guy now or load up in the draft next year.

He would've doubled that total if Braylon knew how to catch a freakin' ball.

HAHA i knew they would regret trading drew bledsoe! Big Grin Big Grin

browns fans would be happier if we were 2-14 with 2 steeler defeats than if we went 14-2 with 2 steeler losses
I Cant believe Gus Frerotte is outplaying all our QBs combined!

The Patriots would not a quality player or a 1st round pick for a one year band-aid. Not only do we not know the extent of his injury, but he will be back next season. It's not like he is washed up.

Anyway, the Patriots are working out Tim Rattay and Chris Simms tomorrow (Monday).

quote:
The Patriots will bring in quarterback Chris Simms for a workout Monday. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Patriots will also look at journeyman Tim Rattay. When the Patriots drafted Brady in the sixth round in 2000, the decision was between Brady and Rattay. The Patriots took Brady because he is taller (6 feet 4 to Rattay's 6 feet).
