Hi,

I am playing in a version of the PPR league with my office mates. It is a 10 team league with the following offensive scoring..

QB -- 1 pt for 20 yards, 4 points for TD, no negative scoring.

Rushing -- 1 pt for 10 yards, 6 pts for TD, no negative scoring.

Receiving -- 1 pt for 10 yards, 6 pts for TD, 1 pt. per reception, no negative scoring.

We start 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, and a Bonus player (could be a QB, RB, WR, TE).

I have got the 3rd overall pick in the draft. If LT and Brian Westbrook (remember this is PPR) are gone 1 and 2, is Adrian Peterson worth it at 3. I personally am not getting good vibes with Steven Jackson and the Rams in general. This is a money league. Need your advise on the 3rd overall pick sans LT and Brian Westbrook. THanks for reading.

If Westbrook is gone you might go Addai or Brady. QB is a stretch at 3, but AP is kinda injury prone. Jackson would be a lock at 3, but don't know if he will even be there. Sounds like you have a tough decision. Good luck!!

Thanks for your comments bluedawg. I have been looking long and hard at Brady myself but I hate to pick a non-RB position in the top 3. They guy who is picking 2nd is a huge Vikings fan and looks like his grandson has been screaming for All Day. Hope that happens Smiler Anyways, if LT and Westbrook are gone, it will be between All Day, Addai, Moss (yeah!), and Gore. No QBs until 4th or 5th round (unless Brady to falls to my 18th pick ;-))

My issues with Steven Jackson is he hasn't spent a single day in training camp and the Rams OL which brings back bad memories of our own Browns. All Day has a great OL in Minnesota. Even though Chester Taylor may get the catches, I have a feeling All Day is going to light up the league in rushing. Guess Joseph Addai is the safe pick. The draft is on the 26th at a bar, we're going to have a big braft board with different colored stickers for different positions with players names on it. Gonna be fun!

I go peterson 3 in a heartbeat. For all the games he will put up huge numbers, even if he misses two games, he will win that many alone. Going into his second season, broke the single game rushing record, put up huge numbers, will likely be featured more than Chester.

you also have to consider though that Steven Jackson if available, will turn more overall yards, Receiving and rushing. With Al Saunders being their new O.C and being that he likes throwing ti RB's, I would prob go Jackson before AP. Plus AP hasn't finished a full season since 2004

Wasn't Jackson hurt last year? I believe he only has one full season since 2004 too.

Im in a PPR league as well and last year Westbrook made the difference on my team. He made up for one or two of my starters not producing because he was guaranteed to put up over 20 at a minimum, although he did miss a couple games. My draft board would look like this

1. Tomlinson
2. Westbrook
3. Peterson
4. Addai
5. Jackson

I wouldn't take Peterson with the number 1 pick but I'd be ok with it at 2 or 3 so I say go for it. Also I think Steven Jackson might be ok if LT and Peterson are both gone

Definitely a solid draft...I had to take Holmes a little earlier to get him but I am really high on him this year. You should start McNabb over Rivers. You team hinges on your QB play. But Westbrook in a PPR league gives you a chance to win every week.

Other than 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DST, our league starts a flex (QB/RB/WR/TE).

Who would you think would serve as flex among the below? (no negative scoring)

Philip Rivers
Santonio Holmes
Willie Parker

Let me repeat my question again...

The following positions for week 1 are set...

QB - McNaab vs STL
RB1 - Westbrook vs STL
WR1 - Reggie Wayne vs CHI
WR2 - T.J. Housh vs BAL
TE - Gates vs CAR
K - Josh Brown vs PHI
DEF - SEATTLE vs BUF

The following positions, I need your inputs

RB2 - Jamal Lewis vs DAL (or) Willie Parker vs HOU
FLEX - Philip Rivers vs CAR (or) Santonio Holmes vs HOU

I love Jamal Lewis, and this would be THE ONLY time I would choose a Steeler over a brown, but you gotta play FWP. I have a sick feeling in my gut that JL will be hampered by the hammy all season long.

Last I heard they weren't even certain Phillip Rivers was going to be ready by the opener, so I'd say Santonio Holmes.

Thanks AllHeart. I am going to go with Fast Willie.

I will decide between Rivers and Holmes close to the weekend. I am almost sure Rivers will start in the opener. There are no negative points, so even if Rivers throws for 200 yards and no TDs, he will get 10 points. But Holmes has the potential to explode. Thanks! My gut says Parker and Holmes.
