I was just reminded on a thread about changing uniforms and it is something I have always wanted. I know we are a traditional team and we don't stray from what we have done in the past but what serious harm can come from having some beautiful ladies out thier shaking thier pom poms. Come on guys the ladies have Quinn to look at lol. I think it would be a great addition but then again I have been called perverted in the past oh well.

I would not be opposed to this.

I think adding cheerleaders is hardly going to erase our tradition. Roll Eyes

I will save everyone time...

why people want cheerleaders
1. Give you something to look at between plays
2. Really no other reason for cheerleaders that is it.

why we don't want them
1. Takes away the opportunity for the highschool cheer squads to be able to participate in cheering in front of a huge crowd.
2. Never had them
3. They take away from the game

counterarguments
1. maybe it is about time we do have them.
2. The school girls can still get to cheer and meet professional cheerleaders.
3. how does it take away from the game...you can watch when the play isn't going on like time outs. Just because you don't want them why should the rest of us be denied.

end of the argument is that the Browns are a class act organization that does not exploit woman but rather play football and give school kids great opportunities other teams do not offer to their cities. It is their tradition and Al lerner has the right to stick with it.

then we will repeat the same arguments with different analogies to say the same things over and over again for two or three pages until the thread dies. 2 months from now we will start over again.

Just go online and download the pics you want and place them on a calandar with an orange and brown color scheme that says go browns on it. Then place any Browns scheduled games on the calandar. It will cost you less and you don't have to settle for the girls someone else thought was hot.

Instead of the Browns spending money on cheerleaders ... I'd rather see them add some restrooms.

I like the fact that we don't have cheerleaders. why? because everyone else does.

I like that brown is our primary color. why? because no other team has it.

I like that we have no logo on our helmet. why? 'cause everyone else has one.

I like that we play in "cleveland browns stadium" why? because everyone else plays at "norelco general electric motorola stadium and field at daimler chrysler park".

I hope this team never sells out the way so many others have. I'm proud to be a fan of a team that doesn't feel the need to follow every trend.

I think having cheerleaders is part of football...I wouldn't have an issue with it but I'm not losing any sleep over it either

it's fine if they invite area high school sqauds to cheer...but please no 'professional' women in bikinis. no vamps with pompoms who can't even follow the game. there are real women in the stands who CAN, and love it! let the other teams have the excess...we are a classic team...no accessories required.

The majority of fans want them and the minority does not.

Guess what? The minority will win. Nothing new here.

I think there's bigger fish to fry at the Staduim then having cheerleaders right now but I'm not against it.

Exactly what I was going to say and have said before on this subject. Wink

Besides when does the crowd ever follow along to any of the cheers that these women lead any way? Great for HS and collage not so much for the pros.

The real role of cheer leading squads is public relations and charity events and selling promotional items, which is good thing. JMHO

GO BROWNS!!!!
