just watching ESPN and noticed that FSU safety Myron Rolle, who skipped out on the 2009 draft to accept a Rhodes Scholarship to go to Oxford, will be playing in the 2010 Senior Bowl and likely putting his name in the draft.

Great athlete and very smart, this is going to be a guy Mangini looks hard at, possible 2nd round pick

1st pick deff Colt McCoy..trade Quinn ( for an 3-4 olb) keep Anderson(training camp QB competetion not like this year) or get Eric Berry (trade Elam and Coleman for DE)

2nd pick... Coleman saftey out of Ohio State( is he a senior this year?) or get a power RB

just go crazy with the rest of the picks only getting OL(RG,RT) TE(hybrid like heath miller) OLB DL(pass rusher) RB(power we have harrison and davis for speed)(do NOT!!! get a WR Donte Stallworth is coming back next year we are set at WR with Masaquai Stallworth Robsike and Cribbs... heck we could even resign Steptoe

1st round... I want Taylor Mays.

I'm hoping our 3 from the Jets jumps to a 2 since BE is actually trying now.

I haven't watched enough college to know the depth of the draft, but I would target:

1. Mays
2. OT
2/3. RB
3. OLB
4. TE
5. CB
5. MLB
5. OT/G
6. K
7. G/OT
7. DT/DE

I'm not happy with our QB play, but if we are as bad as we look, and ManKok is tearing this thing down, then I want to do what we should have done in 99... and BUILD a football TEAM! And when the team is built, or almost built, then we add the QB we need.

I want Eric Berry. This kid makes plays all over the filed. Anyone watch the Florida vs Tenn game, he didn't back down from anyone.

Since we'll be picking in the top 5 I would have to say either Colt McCoy, Taylor Mays or Eric Berry depending on who ManKok likes as far as "character" guys... Either that or he'll trade down 4 times and pick a RT/DE/OLB (tweener) with a late 20's pick...

So you would take Berry over Mays? I watched that game too and was very impressed with Berry. I just can't get past Mays at 6'3" and 240lbs and runs a 4.3 forty... Mays is a beast and will knock someone's head off, something the Browns haven't had since Eric Turner.

I think Eric Berry is the safest most established player in next years draft. He has been starting I know for three years and has produced consistently. Like I said before we have bigger needs but he may be too good to pass up.

Mays is the dynamic athlete who has the upside, Berry is the solid athlete who has the skill set to go with the position.

Taylor Mays has been somewhat of a liability in coverage, something Cleveland is accustomed to having.

Berry is definitely the safer bet and he's not exactly a bad athlete either

I know I don't want a QB with that first pick. We obviously need one, but I think DA can hold down the fort long enough to fill some of the other big holes.

I want Mays!!!! But I'll happily settle for Berry.....

I would take Berry over Mays for the simple fact that with all of his physical attributes he doesn't seem to live up to the hype. His int numbers have never been high and he seems to dissappear in games. While I'm sure he is going to tear up the combine he doesn't match that on the field. Mays is more of an athlete while Berry is a very talented football player. Also this year Tenn has played him as more of a free lancer so we know for sure that he can play both up in the box and back in coverage. I'm not a fan of taking a safety in the top 5 (if we end up there) but Mangini has shown he likes smart football players. Also with the drafting of Alex Mack he seems to like the safe pick. With Berry you know what you are getting and he has less bust potential than Mays. I think the kids a stud

Bingo, Mays reminds me of a more athletic Brodney Pool.

Pool is a hell of an athlete who was pretty raw in coverage.

Obviously Mays is a better athlete and better skills, but Berry is top 10 worthy, Mays is a top 15 pick

You and me both, because lord knows we need a star running back. I just am not seeing a superstar top of the first round back in this draft. I love cerebral QB's with accuracy and Sam Bradford meets both of those requirements. I have this strange feeling that Makok is going to take a defensive player....

If Bradford is so smart he would jam his shoulder into a wall and get red shirted so we would pick another QB and he could stay oout of this QB quamdry we call Cleveland. Big Grin

I think Jonathan Dwyer from Georgia Tech is a top 10 running back. At 5'11 and 235 pounds he's a load and I think he's going to be a top-flight running back in the NFL. Good size and good speed.

What?

First of all, Quinn, a 3rd, and next year's 5th doesn't even come close to getting a 1st round pick...not even close.

Second, Carolina doesn't even have a 2st this year. They traded it last draft to get Everett Brown.

I think Bradford could be an option, and maybe even clausen if he keeps up his pace. clausen may be a slight trade down scenario.

I think the Rams lock up the #1 overall and beat us to Bradford. I just see us winning more games than them.

Unless we go RT (Okung/Bulaga), I would be shocked if we didn't go defense. At that point it is Berry/Mays or maybe Carlos Dunlap.

I think Berry is a little more versatile, and better all around than Mays.

I think the 2010 NFL draft goes...
#1) Rams - Bradford
#2) Raiders - Mays
#3) Browns - Berry
#4) Lions - Okung

I like Berry Spikes and Mays but I think we can expect a OT in the first round. Look at the Jets OL all first rounders except for one and this past draft Mangini got a center. So for all 4 of mangini's past drafts as a HC it has been OL in the first. I expect the same this coming draft as we all know we need help on the right side.
I do hope we can package some picks and move back into the first and get a differance maker on D.
I think we are stuck with our current QB's till 2011 Frowner

Hey BPG.. I guess you have never watched Eric Berry play. The Florida-Tennesse game was on national tv a few weeks ago, if you missed it Eric Berry dominated. He is the same height as Ed Reed and 3 pounds heavier, he is a ball-hawk who had 7 picks last year a true sophomore and returned two of them for touchdowns. He was a 5 star prospect coming out of high school and will be drafted in the top 5 picks of the draft this year if he runs under a 4.55.. Ed Reed was picked at number 24.

Now obviously Ed Reed is one of the greatest ever and should be a hall of famer but when I say "Eric Berry=the next Ed Reed" what I mean is that I believe that he could very well be player of similar caliber as Reed in the NFL. They have the same playing style and Berry is a leader (he was named a team captain this year a junior.) If we are picking in the top 5 this year I think it's gotta be between Berry and Suh (who would be a D-end for us).. picks 10-5 id say go for Gerald Mccoy.

It is never too early for draft talk.

I would love to see us get Eric Berry or Brandon Spikes. Right now those two would be my top choices.

I also wouldn't mind drafting the top tackle in the draft and putting him on the right side.

I also feel like we should and more than likely will draft a quarterback. I don't like Bradford, McCoy, or Tebow though. Maybe Clausen idk, i dont know much about the quarterbacks.

On a mock draft, the writer wrote "pick a position, any position and chances are the Lions need help at that position" I feel that that definitely applies to the Browns so we have a lot of options here.

I am always for the safe picks I suppose, but we need more difference/play makers.

This team already proved it can't draft.
Draft day 2009 Browns trade away a chance for Mark Sanchez.
I'm looking forward to the next head coach and gm

We don't need a dozen low round draft picks to fill out our special teams. We need to draft more legitimate players who will stud out with this team for a decade.

I am with those of you who like Eric Berry. He would become an instant leader of the defense, both vocally and by example. He can cover and be that extra linebacker when we want to stack the box. Absolute stud.

As for having 11 picks, I don't see how a bunch of middle round guys are going to help this team. Mangini used 2009 to pick up a bunch of guys that aren't high on talent, but that are his "type of players. I'm hoping 2010 is the year that he's aggressive in getting some top talent...through the draft and FA (if we can convince anyone to sign with us). Hopefully we get our guy in the top 10, and then someone that we really like falls to the end of the first round and we're able to parlay some of our later picks into a late 1st to get our guy.

2009 was a year to lay the infrastructure for the future. I'm guessing 2010 is going to be a combination of continuing that as well as getting a few playmakers...something this team needs badly...

I am torn between Brandon Spikes and Eric Berry

I am a gator fan and have watched Spikes dominate the Mike linebacker position since walked on campus 4 years ago

I am serious when I say that I think he could be the next Ray Lewis..better yet I think he could be the next Brandon Spikes lol

Eric Berry is also an option for me but I am a little hesitant to pick a stud Safety over a stud linebacker when we have needs at both positions...unless Berry is lightyears ahead of Spikes in talent, I would put another piece in our front seven...can you imagine Spikes and DQ lining up with one another? A tackling machine paired with a violent headhunter? Wow...just got goosebumps

Im past counting our record....here is to bringing it every week and improving our team as a whole!
